New Year’s Eve

Marking the passage of one year into the next is tedious. Heck, most of
us change in such subtle ways that it takes a major, life-altering
event like marriage or the birth of a child to make us realize what has
happened.
Call me cynical, but the only good thing about New Year’s is the
partying, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it is the only thing.
I prefer to look forward and not to look back and this New Year’s I’m
reminded about the incredible promise of the future.
I thought about what I did in 2002 when I wrote my Christmas letter. I
need to get my head around 2003 or maybe even 2010 when I’ll have my
novel/screenplay/diatribe/treatise on world peace written.
Peace.
