As I was using the elliptical trainer at the gym this afternoon, I watched a Dell ad on TV that I must have seen a dozen times already. In the ad, an office worker named Clay outperforms his cubemates because he has an extra digit, a second pinkie finger, on each hand. Luckily, the office manager orders everyone new Dell computers to make up for Clay’s hyper-productivity. The ad made me question whether or not “Steven”, the Dell dude, had thought up this campaign while under the influence. Makes you wonder, dunnit?
