After last weekend’s cable-disabling ice storm, I waited this morning with some trepidation to hear from the Groundhog of record here in America, Punxsutawney Phil. Phil forecasts a long winter, very eloquently, I might add. Phil’s Georgia counterpart, General Beau Lee, has a rosier view for us frozen (or still thawing) Southerners: an early Spring.

I’m thinking out loud here, but Gen. Lee must be an optimistic Falcons fan and Phil is just a pessimistic Eagles fan. We’ll see this weekend (Superbowl) if the team allegiances thing pans out and in the coming weeks which varmint was right about their weather prediction.
