I’ve been getting a ton of referrals from search engines on the phrase “Dean Wormer? Dead!” over the last couple of days and now I know why. It turns out that John Vernon, the actor who portrayed Dean Wormer in Animal House passed away this week [via Metafilter]. I’m left only to ponder the sage advice the wise Dean gave to Blutarsky (John Belushi) in that film: “Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son.”
