The Best Week Ever Blog makes a great point about the dueling doctor shows Jenn and I watch. Here’s my quasi-mathematical recap of their lede:

Scrubs == Silly Show == Serious Illnesses
Grey’s Anatomy == Serious Show == Silly Illnesses

I guess the comedy (Scrubs) needs dramatic tension and actual maladies to give the semi-corny stories gravitas. By the same token the drama (Grey’s Anatomy) needs funny operating room jokes to lighten all that heavy romantic , ‘young doctors in love’ claptrap.

My two cents. YMMV.

By the way, both of tonight’s episodes of Scrubs – ‘My Way Home’ and ‘My Big Bird’ – were awesome. The first one, ‘My Way Home’, was the show’s 100th episode and was directed by Zach Braff.

Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.
