Raelyn’s wisdom comes in threes

The three best conversations I had all day on Wednesday:

  1. Upon finding Raelyn and our dog Lucy in the bed when I woke up (none of them were present when I went to sleep)
  2. Me: Why are you and Lucy in the bed?
    Rae: Because we are.

  3. Upon picking Raelyn up at daycare, where she had a meltdown
  4. Me: I’m here for you, Raelyn.
Rae: I want mommy to be here! I want you to go on a trip!

  5. Upon driving home and getting cut off by an idiot driver
  6. Me: Are you going to be a good driver when you grow up?
Rae: I’m staying little forever. I’m not growing up.

So it ran the full gamit today, folks. The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat; the dizzying highs and the terrifying lows.

And here I am past midnight, basking in the warm glow of the monitor and my own paternal pride (or that mix of emotions you get from being the only parent for a week).

G’night!
