TV in Japan: Don’t Get Japanese Puppets Angry

So after I bookmarked the blog TV in Japan on my del.icio.us account, I got the following tip from it’s author:

Hi Seth,

Gavin Purcell here, owner/operator of that new TV in Japan blog that you so graciously linked to the other day.

First and foremost, thanks! I greatly appreciate all links to the site and loved seeing all of the love from across the blogosphere.

Second, I’ve been a fan of your blog from the time you posted the link to the Gangsta Elmo, which I created/mashed-up myself but kept on the DL because I wasn’t sure what kind of legal issues I’d get in at all. So far, nada, which is good. I’ve actually been toying around with the idea of doing a Colors mash-up featuring Grover and all the blue monsters vs. Elmo and all the red monsters from SS. Ever since my daughter was born (about a year and a half ago) I’ve been watching more and more SS and I’ve defintely gotten a ton of inspiration from it. The show is incredible no matter what age you are.

Apart from all that, I’m also writing you because I just posted a kinda interesting puppet-type clip you might like. According to one of my commentors, it’s from a Japanese music show. It’s definitely worth a look.

It’s here: http://tvinjapan.blogspot.com/2006/04/dont-get-japanese-puppets-angry.html

Anyways, keep up the great work and thanks for the link!

Yours,

Gavin Purcell

Here’s the video, Don’t Get Japanese Puppets Angry, Gavin suggested and blogged.

Actually, it looks like YouTube removed the original video, but the commenter on his blog says the video is of Kaela Kimura, who appears in some other videos on YouTube. Here’s one, with the aforementioned puppets.

If we’re lucky, maybe my cousin Nate will translate (or at least explain) for us.
