Part Mop. Part Puppet. All Crazy.
So Jenn and I caught Wicked on Saturday at The Fox, having never heard a note or read a review. Three things are abundantly clear now that we’ve experienced it:
I’m no spectacular judge of talent, but I do know desire and enthusiasm when I see them. The cast of Wicked enjoyed the hell out of their performance and the audience was rewarded in spades.
Elphaba was played by the stand-in who completely owned the stage and the actress playing Galinda couldn’t have been a better combination of drunken Sandra Dee and firecracker.
Again, I wasn’t familiar with the source material in either form (Novel or Broadway) but I left not only entertained but wanting more.
Bravo!
You're reading Mostly Muppet the personal blog of Seth Miller [About].
I don't really blog that much about Muppets, despite the URL, and focus mainly on Lost, etymology and whatever else strikes my fancy

I read the book and enjoyed it greatly but the singing and dancing element of most stage shows leaves me [insert brilliant metaphor here].

If and when you do see it on Broadway, you are going to be like, “OH MY GOD!!! This is 1000000000000000 times better than the show at the fox was!!”. Not because they sucked or anything, but because man, that is broadway!
And get the cast recording. WOW.

I was lucky enough to see the show on broadway with the original cast. I absolutely loved it.
I think the show at the Fox was as close as I have ever seen to matching the original.
