This was the problem last night/this morning on der blog:
WordPress database error: [Can’t open file: ‘wp_comments.MYI’ (errno: 144)]
This is the solution, ultimately:
REPAIR TABLE wp_comments
So now that things are fixed, here’s what lead me to my epiphany:
- Keep getting WordPress database error: [Can’t open file: ‘wp_comments.MYI’
- WP Problem!!
- Can’t open file: ‘wp_comments.MYI’
- SQL Error: Missing wp_comments Table
- WordPress database error: [Can’t open file: ‘wp_comments.MYD’. (errno: 144)]
But the solution I employed could just have easily blown up in my face.
So, if you’re using WordPress 2.0 (like me), use the backup tool. Please.
> Manage > Backup > Yada Yada
If you’re not on WordPress 2.0, well then, use MySQL to back your shit up. Or if you’re on an older WordPress install, download WordPress Database Backup.
I just did a backup (and a creme rinse) and I feel great.
Stay tuned for more bloggy (but not about the bloggy) goodness later.
