Weekend Recap

The tale of the tape for the last weekend in January 2007:

  • Sub-arctic walks taken: 1
  • Why we ventured outside the house after noon yesterday, I’ll never know.

I burned 1000 calories just keeping my own cheeks pink.

  • Rooms cleaned: 2
  • And I mean CLEANED.

Raelyn’s closet was completely re-organized, as was her dresser (and drawers) and changing table.

Additionally, Jenn and I jettisoned the old clothing in both of our dressers and the closet.

Spring cleaning came early since we may be moving houses and Jenn needed to re-organize for maternity clothes.

    Phew!

I’ll have pictures of both the walk and the cleaning later.

  • Leftovers eaten: 3 doggie bags worth
  • Given the number of times we eat out each week and the sheer volume of styrofoam in the fridge, purging on Sundays is a good thing.

  • Meltdowns: 4
  • As we approach the birth date of the second child, Raelyn is throwing more fits than ever before.

Why? I have my theories, but only the soon-to-be big sister knows for sure.

By the numbers, that was it.

  1. Although I would never wish ill on you or your family, I’m actually sort of happy to hear about Raelyn’s breakdowns. She’s been too good for too long. With our kids being complete brats 90% of the time, it’s always nice to see other kids have their moments, too. Makes ours seem a little less monstrous. 🙂

Plus, if she continued to be the little angel she’s been, it would only make it that much harder if child number two is a hellion. Now, you’ll have some good tantrums under your belt before the new one can even think of throwing one. 🙂

  2. I happen to think it’s projection of emotions she can’t verbalize concerning her unborn sibling.

Also, I think she’s testing our boundaries to see what she’ll be able to get away with in the future.
