Fame is where you find it

Or, sometimes, where it finds you.

Right now I’m basking in the warm glow of Reuters (yes, that Reuters) running one of my blog posts (the one on Brian Henson) because of my affiliation with BlogBurst. I saw a little bit of traffic, no comments and I’ll hopefully see some revenue some day, but that’s not the point. Through BlogBurst and Reuters I got a wider distribution for my writing outside just this blog.

Pretty cool when you think about it. Despite the fact that I self-publish, I don’t command the respect or eyeballs that Reuters does, so I feel pretty excited.

Secondly, I’ve taken on yet another blogging opportunity within Metroblogging. In addition to being the city captain for Atlanta, I’m also now an author for the Azeroth (World of Warcraft) Metroblog. My first post (of a series), Tales of a Wow n00b: Day 1, went up last night. Please check it out.

In any event, I’m getting myself out there as much as I can and I think I’ve built up a fair amount of goodwill and traffic based on the content and “style” of this blog, such as it is.

If you like it or you hate, please leave a comment. I obviously crave the validation! 😉

  1. Congrats, that’s great news about Reuters! The WoW post is also nice. I’ve been wondering what the heck that’s about.

I submitted my new site to Blog Burst just now. Mine’s a young site and very niche so I’m not sure how a news site would work it in, but I won’t know unless I try.

    Take Care!
