As regular readers of the blog and personal friends know, I’m something of a beer snob. Well, not so much a snob really as someone who enjoys drinking beer and is always looking for new and exciting things to try.
So I’ve been collecting links in a draft post for several months trying to stitch together some sort of grand, overarching narrative but I can’t find one.
Instead I’m just going to briefly preface the links and let you have at it, all in the name of sharing the wealth. Maybe this is why I need a tumble blog.

- S&N Deal Hurts Heineken’s Earnings, but Boosts Carlsberg’s
The more I think about the Black & Tan my dad drank last weekend, the more I want a Brutul Lagerhead to make my own. Sure, I could just use the back of the spoon but I also could use another beer gadget around the house (other than a bottle opener).
Great New Yorker article that I ended up discussing with a neighbor when we bumped into one another in the liquor store on the Saturday before the Superbowl.
Old BoingBoing article that came out around the time I finally made it to a Monday Night Brewery event for the first time. Also a reminder that as the weather improves I’ll be (hopefully) attending more Monday Nights and brewing some more beer of my own.
Great facts from a book that’s on my reading list, via Russell Sauve.
Bell’s and Metropolitan Brewing. I have family in Michigan and Indiana, so they can send me the Bell’s and we might just have to go to Chicago to have the Metro Brewing stuff.
I’m a Young’s Double Chocolate Stout guy myself, but I can see how Sapporo’s offering would be good.
Basically Heineken is getting the worse of the deal that split up Scottish & Newcastle‘s holdings between them and Carlsberg because of the differences in the North American and European beer markets. Carlsberg shouldn’t be confused with Carling which is distributed here in the states by SAB Miller (or MillerCoors which holds the keys to MolsonCoors domestically). Phew!
All I really want, still, is my MillerMolsonCoorsCarling iPhone app. Is that too much to ask for without jailbreaking my phone.
Happy Drinking!
