The Jayhawks’ Hollywood Town Hall and Tomorrow The Green Grass both share a special place in my heart and on my iTunes playlists. “Blue” has got to be one of my favorite songs of all time, even the cover version by The Thorns is pretty darn good.
The Jayhawks have a brand new album coming out this fall, Mockingbird Time, and it features the core lineup of Gary Louris and Mark Olson (who had left the band in 1995) for the first time in 16 years.
I’m very excited that they’re back together and the newest single, She Walks In So Many Ways, is great. Many thanks to SiriusXM 28 The Spectrum for playing it this morning.
Here’s the “trailer” for the new album & a video for She Walks In So Many Ways:
If you enjoy the kind of rootsy, Americana music that’s gotten a ton of exposure now because of the likes of Mumford & Sons and others, do yourself a favor and check out The Jayhawks.
