I’m becoming Yukon Cornelius

Unfortunately, I started growing my beard about a week or so before Whiskerino (not to mention punting on NaBloPoMo and being criminally behind on NaNoWriMo) and didn’t have the heart to start over so soon.

On the plus side, I’ve only marginally shaved around the periphery and trimmed some unruly hairs. Other than that this is the longest, lushest, bushiest, most pristine patch of facial far I’ve grown.

The downside – if there is a downside to such an outward manifestation of virility and manliness – is that I’m beginning to look more and more like crazed miner and minor character from the Rankin/Bass Rudolph special, Yukon Cornelius.

Apparently I’m not the first person to see a resemblance to themselves and Yukon Cornelius, either.

Thankfully, I didn’t dress as him for Halloween. This year, at least.
