A little bit every day

23 Jul 2002 In: Non Sequitur

2 miles on the trail and 1500 steps on the stepper yesterday. A little bit every day brings us closer to the goal.

Jenn and I used the new grill for the first time last night. We were able to get two Bubba Burgers done before the rain set in. Mighty tasty burgers,
mighty hard rain.
Now all we have to do is repeat this process the rest of the summer.
Long walks and working out followed by grilled dinner. Fun! Yum!
Thppppptttttt!!!!!!!!!!

Keep on walking

Saturday and Sunday were both heavily-trafficked days. Jenn, Lucy and I
walked 3 miles each day on the Silver Comet Trail.
Let me state for the record that summer humidity, sunshine and a 3-mile
walk make for great excercise and probably a few dead brain cells.
We went down to Fayetteville to swim in Jenn’s folks pool on Sunday.
After half an hour the sky opened up and we were forced inside. Things
weren’t all wet: we did eat steak for dinner and we got the chance to
see Gosford Park.
A very good film, but I advise everyone to watch the DVD with captions
on; lots of British (and Scottish) accents and no less than 20
characters - it can be confusing.
Happy Monday to everyone!

Friday Confidential

19 Jul 2002 In: Non Sequitur

I went to lunch this afternoon with Kevin and JC form ASI, where Jenn works. We ate at the Vortex on Peachtree and talked intranets. A good time was had by all.

An even better time is being had by the folks at ASI this afternoon. My enterprising wife, Jenn, has brought in Miller Lite for a “Beer Friday” celebration. Have one for me, folks!

In other news, a giant fake spider is hanging off the side of CNN Center in promotional support of the film Eight Legged Freaks.
Both the promo and the movie look horrible, but that won’t stop me from
seeing it anyhow. Maybe I can talk Jenn into going tonight.
No mowing this weekend as I took care of that Wednesday. Hopefully I’ll
have time to write more tomorrow.

Truly Done

I think I’ve caught everything and the site is hunky-dory. If you catch
something, post a comment or email me at whoelse@mostlymuppet.com.
Thank you for your support and continued patronage.

Getting warmer

The only thing left to fix are comments and karma. For some reason, all
of the posts from today are without Karma and Comments. I think I’m
going to disallow Karma in the future (it’s bad enough already), but I
really like the comments feature.
On the hosting front, I’m going to spend some time tonight writing my
email to their billing department. I really feel yanked around and just
plain disregarded. If I had prior notification that PHP was being moved
from an Apache module to CGI and that world-writable (777) directories
would screw things up, I would have prepared myself and my site. As it
stands, I got screwed.
