Lost: Dharma Initiative login

There are more than a few official and unofficial Lost sites out there vying for your attention concerning The Dharma Initiative. Here is my brief breakdown of a few of these sites.

For those of you searching for more clues to the Dharma Initiative login, found at Dharma Initiative (http://www.thedharmainitiative.info/) – also linked from Dharma Industries (http://www.dharmaindustries.com/) – I’ve got some clues.

First, Dennis in the comments section of another Lost post, points out this handy, dandy hotspot graphic (or this alternate graphic, which works better for me) for all you hopless clickers. I can never seem to get any of them to work, but others are reporting success.

There’s another unofficial Dharma Initiative site at The Dharma Initiative (http://thedharmainitiative.org/). Here there is an even more vexing login screen that appears, at last check, to be pretty unbreakable. All I know is that if you click the Swan you get the Orientation video. Help is welcome and encouraged.

As for official sites, if you try to go to the secure server of the Hanso Foundation (official Lost viral site), you get a text link to
http://www.bigspaceship1.com/. BigSpaceship1.com features a flash animation of two bears and some morse code in the page title:

… — — . – .. — . … / .- / .–. — .-.. .- .-. / -… . .- .-. / .. … / .— ..- … – / .- / .–. — .-.. .- .-. / .–. . .- .-.

Here’s the translation of that morse code:

Sometimes / A / Polar / Bear / Is / Just / A / Polar / Pear

“Sometimes a Polar Bear is just a Polar Pear”

Doesn’t make sense to me, but I’m not the producers of Lost. Maybe it works as a code on oceanicflight815.com?

No dice. I tried ‘sometimesapolarbearisjustapolarpear’ and ‘sometimesapolarbearisjustapolarbear’ – neither worked.

If you’ve got other clues about logging in to the official or unofficial fan sites, leave a comment.

Also, if you’re interested, I’m selling Dharma Initiative T-Shirts!

UPDATE: Hunter Maxim in the comments notes that Big Spaceship1.com has changed it’s cryptic message to the following morse code:

.. -. / –. .. .-. ..- — / .. — ..- … / -. — -.-. – . / . – / -.-. — -. … ..- — .. — ..- .-. / .. –. -. ..

He translates the message as the following: “In girum imus nocte et consumimur igni”

Information on this riddle of a Latin palindrome here.

“We go into the circle by night and we are consumed by fire.”

Or, alternatively:

This famous maccaronic verse, called “the devil’s verse”, is a riddle in the form of a palindrome – literally a puzzle inside a puzzle… It means “we wander in the night, and are consumed by fire” or “we enter the circle after dark and are consumed by fire” and is said to describe the movement of months. Some others believe that it is about the ‘mayfly’, that insect that circles the fire only to be consumed by flame.

Perhaps instead of polar bears we should be concerned about mayflys or the 540-day stay for those in the hatch? Who knows at this point.

UPDATE II: Malakai, in the comments of another post, notes that the Flash file of Dharma Initiative (http://www.thedharmainitiative.info/), upon his inspection, only has 3 hotspots and never resolves. One site down, just the login/password of The Dharma Initiative (http://thedharmainitiative.org/) to go. If you’ve got clues, this would be the place to post them.

UPDATE III: If you keep mousing over the area around 7 o’clock at http://www.dharmaindustries.com/ you’ll eventually get to a screen that looks like the computer terminal inside the hatch. Enter the numbers and you’ll receive a prompt asking for a “Member ID”. I’m thinking it’s the name of the dude who “rescued” Desmond, but I don’t recall his name. Anyone?

UPDATE IV: I’ve got two recent posts up about the new Hanso Foundation site – [here] & [here].

UPDATE V: I’m closing the comments. Comment on the Hanso Foundation posts listed above. That’s an official site by the producers anyhow.

twig, I did sublymonal and got the code, I input it in the box press enter and nothing happens still. What is supposed to happen??

  2. Kendra says:

thanks for the information Twig, I’ll give it another shot…

Has anybody joined that Dharma Education and Research Facilities forum yet? If so, how is it? I didn’t get around to joining it yet?

This is also my first post.
Yes, I’ve been to letyourcompassguideyou.com. It was shown on a Hanso commercial that was aired during last week’s Lost episode. If you say “N” to “Are you one of the good ones?” it just takes you to the executive bio section of the Hanso foundation website.

There’s probably more cool stuff that can be done with this site, but I’m not very good at finding hidden things so maybe you computer people can find something.

  4. twig says:

😀 is any1 here from us… im from uk and im currently watching the episodes in time with the yanks. just thought id say lol. has any1 phoned the hanso number and if so what did it say.?.

  5. Sweetiebean says:

OK, I don’t know if I’m just blind or this wasn’t there before, but at thehansofoundation.org there is now a link to the board of directors under the executive bios page. It shows some guys at the top of the screen, but says you need a login and password to get in. Anyone experimented with this yet or found what the login and password are?

  6. tyler says:

there is a free tool on the net called http://www.whois.net it will pull up all registered information about a web page. The dharma industries page is registered to the same man who owns the http://www.di9fftr731.com/ domain. coincidence i think not… the 3 hanso pages and the dharma initiative page are all registered to ABC and all of the data is kept on the same server as ABC’s home page. if anyone can crack the logins on these pages please let me know my email is flyguyty89@netscape.net

  7. Selene says:

At hansocareers.com you can check out some job opportunities they have available. There’s some interesting stuff. In each of the job descriptions there are some letters grayed out. I’m not sure if this means anything or perhaps the letters can be rearranged to spell something, but the letters are: nslutmiemaya.

  8. admartin says:

Hugh McIntyre, The Mout Piece. Mettlebrook is the Heir Apparent – Type Below Pic. Bord of Dir. PW is Inmate Asylum. The Lawyer Peter is survivor guilt.
    Everone else knows the rest!

  9. Ash says:

ok so i found a load of new stuff people. It may be the answers to some of your code problems or it may not.

If you go here : http://www.letyourcompassguideyou.com/

then find the hidden 108 degrees button just to the bottom right of the compass (more like ese actually – and just off of the compass) you will get a console

    type y and press enter.
it will let you into a folder

Choose pthompso to see a whole bunch more files. There are a whole bunch of .png “scans” of what look like faxes. The memo is interesting because the location is blacked out.

Also if you go to inbox and copy and paste the google link from the top of the email you will get a list of links

Choose the top one entitled “binary its digilicious” then copy and paste the binary code from the inbox email into the right hand box.

press the decode button and it will give you the translation:

    The Mouth Piece

there may be another use for this translator if anyone can find any more binary.

What does the mouth piece mean? – something to do with the flute reference i read earlier in this thread?

Hansocareers site. Highlight each job description. Certain letters are highlighted. Turns to an angram which says “inmate aslyum” Put that password into the “Board of Directors” login for Liddy Wales or Lawrence Peck. No login name needed, just password. All this is on the thehansofoundation.org if you didnt know

  11. cargi69 says:

Just been to letyourcompassguideyou.com once in (put mouse down south east just outside main compass ring, click 108 and it lets u in to a user directory, pthompson has files as does hmcinytr, mostly oddjeep/chrysler images, faxes etc?

One cool thing is in pthompson mail folder open the inbox file, there is a load of binary:

    01010100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01001101 01101111 01110101 01110100 01101000 00100000 01010000 01101001 01100101 01100011 01100101

there is also a google search string (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGLG:2006-09,GGLG:en&q=binary+translators)

the binary translates to ‘The Mouth Piece’ ????

Any one have any idea what these are for?

  12. costanzo says:

I’ve found the phrase ‘The Mouth Piece’ in two places so far. One on an image in Hugh’s folder, and another encoded in binary code in Peter Thompson’s mail folder.

  13. Thor says:

Isn’t the best thing to do : Find some people that can hack the sites. Not the codes but the actual server and get the data of the entier site (submaps and stuff ).

  14. Adam Griffiths says:

Hey Dudes, Go to Sublymonal.com and type in persephone. then look at the plane that keeps appearing on the tv, look at the number type the number in. also the wierd thing is, 4 8 15 16 23 42 all add to this number.

  15. Adam Griffiths says:

My friend has located a hidden island on the hanso site. Go to the world map page. click on guinea. put your cursor on top of the little house and follow across with the the cursor to the left. between america and africa you’ll find and island.

  16. Kendra says:

I still can’t help it but this page gives me the creeps… especially the Heir Apparent stuff what with that wheelchair and whoever that was in the doorway! I got freaked out and closed the page…. It’s getting closer to horror than anything else…. Is that an idea perhaps?

  17. Bruno says:

    hello

I would like to comment on the dharma dimendion theory (i did read the whole thing before postin so i know how you guys dont belive it) because all this about the Hanso foundation and all related sites are
an ARG as you all probably know but it only started recently (this year) an the dharma theory was before this. So its all either all true of its some freak really obssesed trying to atract attention. But if its all real….

    thanks

    and

    Namaste

  18. cyrus says:

Hi guys. I found out something. On the Hanso site, go to the map pages… It’s a map with dollars, serynges and men on it. If you click on a symbol, a little window open. Look in Russia, you can click on a place there’s no symbol at all. And more, if you click on the Sudan’s man, you can fill in the percentage yourself. Let’s just find the wright number… Sorry for my langage by the way but I do as best as I can… I’m french but american sites on Lost are much better that the french ones…

  19. Pointman says:

Cyrus, as long as I can understand you (and I’m Polish) – I guess it’s ok 😉
    we do, right
Now, to the topic. We know (we do, right?) http://www.dharmaindustries.com/ is a scam. http://thehansofoundation.org/, on the other hand, is made of pure Flash 8 – I believe, with all the work involved, it’s ABC-driven. And most of the stuff in Lost is kind of reusable asset stuff (try searching oceanic airlines on wiki).

Still, I am wondering if there’s a transcription of hieroglyphes that show up at the counter – anyone has a clue?

  20. Bruno says:

    Hi
Someone mentioned stuff about dust from His dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman.
Lost and the Books do have some similities (is that even a real word im from Mexico)

    Namaste

  21. Stefano says:

    hi,

after you click on island found by Adam Griffiths (hanso site- active project -WWPDP-map) put the mouse under the 2 grey boxes in the withe area, leave it for a second and you will see the white area flashing and a strange list of characters will appear

  22. Kendra says:

I have done some hieroglyph studies, if you can find me a CLEAR image of the hieroglyphs used, I might be able to translate them.

  23. liam says:

the weird letters probably don’t mean anything, but the numbers transate into ‘missing organs’, when you do A=1, B=2, etc. Weird, dont ya think?

  24. desert life says:
