If you don’t know already, John Mayer has a TV show on VH1 entitled John Mayer has a TV show oddly enough. Jenn and I watched it late one night this weekend and the show does an amazing job of capturing Mayer’s musical talent, affable nature and wink-and-nod sense of subversive humor. Jenn and I have been fans of his since the Eddie’s Attic days, so we had to watch. We were laughing out loud and that doesn’t happen very often when we watch late night TV ([adult swim] excluded).
The show got me thinking about a quip I was going to post last month but didn’t; I had succummed to lazinees. My 10-year high school reunion was the day after Thanksgiving and I wondered aloud to Jennifer how many people were listing to Mayer’s No Such Thing and singing along to this lyric:
I’m gonna bust down the double doors
And when I stand on these tables before you
You will know what all this time was for
Trite and silly, I know, but it did cross my mind. So watch John Mayer’s TV show. It’s funny and you’re up late anyhow.
