I always cheer loudly for former Bulldog football stars in the NFL and none more so than Hines Ward. Ward was a self-described “jack-of-all-trades, master of none” in college, spending time at WR, RB and QB in his four years. Now as part of their SI Players: First Person series, SI.com has a nice interview with Hines about growing up, playing football and the current state of the Steelers. I came across the interview almost by accident and I’m very happy I did. It’s nice to get inside the head of an athlete you admire and discover that they’re an intelligent, honest and nice human being.
