No, he’s not here quite yet – you’ll have to wait until approximately May 17, 2007 – but my brother and sister-in-law are officially expecting a baby boy.

Now this fact, in and of itself, isn’t all that interesting except for the fact that they plan to name the child Lars Jackson Miller.

I’ll let that sink in for a minute before I continue.

Ready? OK.

If you’re like me you’re more than a little confused but hopefully still smiling and nodding your head because, after all, it’s their kid and their right and their choice and they never made fun of your kid’s name (which is beautiful anyway and pretty well beyond reproach so why bother?) so you’re not commenting.

I’ll just leave you with my middle brother’s prognosis: we (the family) will call the kid “Jack” and his lunch money will be stolen by his uncle (the same brother referenced earlier this sentence).

Congratulations Graham and Marisa on the soon-to-be Miller, Lars Jackson. We’re all happy for you, except Lars who, according to Thad (that middle brother) will resent you for naming him thusly.
