Rory Gilmore Sex Boat

Last night’s episode of Gilmore Girls, The UnGraduate, had a tantalizing and funny bit specifically for bloggers.

It seems that everyone at Yale, Paris Geller included, knows about Rory’s boat-stealing incident via the Rebecca Thurston’s blog. Paris tells Rory to Google “Rory Gilmore sex boat” to find all the details.

Following Paris’ advice, I found out that no blog exists and that no blogger has taken the bait (until now). Try it yourself and see.

Two thoughts:

  1. If you’re a TV show and you mention a website or blog, build it out.
Even if it’s threadbare and shitty, it shows that you made the effort to tie your online to your on-air. Hip shows like The Simpsons and Harvey Birdman do it, so everyone should do it.
  2. If you don’t put up a site, especially one referenced in a Google search, you’re asking for someone (me) to (potentially) be the first result.
I’m no expert, but given the post title and the content, I should be number one for “Rory Gilmore sex boat” by tomorrow. If all the fans would have had an actual blog to linkto, the whole thing could have been much more popular and very viral
  3. .

Rory Gilmore may have entered the blogosphere, but The WB hasn’t.

Do your homework, WB. That’s it.

Update: It’s over 15 years later and I’m watching this episode again with all 4 kids, Jenn, and my in-laws. Still funny even if I’m not the top spot anymore.

Someone should make and xanga or something that is roleplaying that and just write something up about stealing the yacht. That would be pretty cool. [:

  2. Rian says:

  12. Missing Gilmore Girls…

I came to grips with my love (and public embrace) of the show Gilmore Girls some time ago, but I’m not “out” at work. Or, rather, I’m not out with my current group of co-workers because:

    I’m in a different group since the…

  14. Holanda says:

I miss those two girls! Alexis Bledel (Rory) will be starring in two movies soon, and Lauren Graham (Lorelai) is currently starring on Guys and Dolls on Broadway! That’s how I keep my Gilmore Girls love alive, by watching movies they’ve been in.

    πŸ™‚

I love that this is still the #1 on Google!

  15. Vincent Law says:

i downloaded the entire series of Gilmore Girls (cuz duh, its the single greatest show in the known universe) and i just paused episode 3 season 6 at 15:44 where i gave in to my louder oddly very female sounding voice in my head (odd because i’m a guy) and googled Rory Gilmore Sex Boat, which happened several minutes ago, and this link was #1, sadly like many other who have posted, there was no official blog post πŸ™ but at least we can be thankful that some awesome fan made this at least πŸ™‚
took me 9 months for the download to finish, and its been 17 days of a pure Gilmore Madness Marathon, complete with a sickening amount of sugary products, i.e. hard candies, soft candies, chewable candies, gummies (sour and non sour), chocolates (milk and dark) chocolate bars, and various salty snack foods, all of which will most likely kill me when i finally stop eating them, i swear my body is being powered by nothing but sugar and once the intake flow stops i’ll come to a slow and painful permanent stop.
P.S. God bless ya for starting this and for having it at #1, being #1 on google is a hard thing to do πŸ™‚
(also, i intend to buy the dvd set, i just dont have the money for another 14 months, wich is when i’ll finally be out of debt, hence the downloading)

  16. John says:

Ah, possibly my favorite GG moment ever. I love Paris, really.
The series has saved me from countless hours of boredom, though I will soon be saying goodbye as I leave my complete collection at home to leave for college…. it was a tough decision, but for the best.

  17. Ellie Oliver says:

Thanks to TiVo I was able to get caught up on my GG ‘s between Christmas and New Years. Lo and behold after, what, 4 years and 3 months I googled “Rory Gilmore sex boat” et voilà you are still #1! That’s kind of remarkable if you think about it. Remarkable.

  18. Caroline says:

First comment of 2010! Just seen this episode repeated on E4 in the UK

Watching Gilmore Girls with my laptop on and my 13 week old baby asleep on me – bliss πŸ™‚

You’re still no. 1 on google!

  19. Of Gilmore Girls, Modern Family & Parenthood…

I have, for whatever reason, a certain amount of fan cred for the TV show Gilmore Girls (late of The WB & The CW) because I took a Google search term – Rory Gilmore Sex Boat – and made it my own. Four and a half years later and I……
